Any Deluxe Reverb users out there?

I used to use a Deluxe Reverb back in my tele playing days. Since that time, I switched to Les Pauls and sold the amp. However, I am missing it.

I was just curious, how does a Deluxe Reverb hold up with a Les Paul. Are you able to keep it clean at giggable volumes. Does it break up nicely. Let me know!

Re: Any Deluxe Reverb users out there?

I sold my SFDR tail end of last year, but must say it sounded great with the Les Pauls (or anything else for that matter). Very Marshall JTM45 like in tone, cut without sounding too shrill.

Needed the space, so sold a load of stuff I really miss. Thanks for reminding me...

I love my deluxe reverb. It breaks up so nicely and it's loud enough for band practices and gigs for me.

Think that's probably why my one went. Still got a silverface Princeton Reverb for quiet gigs, and it works very well for them, but as soon as there's a big snare sound in there you need 30 watts minimum, more if the drummer really hits them...

What are you going to be using instead Stow?

I have mine biased for 6L6s with a SS rectifier. That plus a JBL makes it real giggable

Re: Any Deluxe Reverb users out there?

I played through a DRRI for a long time and thought it sounded great! You could really play the whole amp. Unfortunately it didnt have quite enough fire-power to keep up with my drummer so I ended up selling it to help fund my Mesa Lonestar. Ive actually been lusting after the new Princeton reverb re-issue just to play around with, I love those little combos.
