Pics of my first Gibson Les Paul (and R9)
![]() ![]() ![]() I think it's lemonburst, but it's dark in person. Like a musturst (mustard burst, get it? )I like how the top is kind of like a magic eye - most eyes will just focus immediately on the flames. But if you unfocus, you can see the grain. It's very strong and linear. Almost makes a grid with the flames. I got some Wolfetone Marshall's coming (thanks Fixxxer!) and I got a 0.022 Angela Copper Foil in Oil for the bridge tone and a 0.015 for the neck ready. Just waiting on my RS/CTS audio taper and super pots. I just bought two Fuzz pedals today so hopefully I'm done buying gear forEVER. Seriously, I hope I only need to buy tubes and strings for the rest of my life. ![]() ![]() ![]() The four horsemen have been assembled: got a 335, tele, strat, and now Les Paul. |

![]() Long story short, I broke a string trying to restring with topwrapping and decided against it while in the middle of restringing. I kept the G on there because it was from a pack of 0.11's and, since I would have to use two packs of strings to finish the restringing, I thought I'd try a hybrid - top three strings from 0.11 pack, lower three from a 0.10 pack. I was thinking that, but I could only find R8's in butterscotch when I Google-d. |

After much procrastination, tried to finally take a pic in natural sunlight to redeem my crappy pics above...unfortunately, clouds rolled in. Just to show how difference flash vs natural light

Re: Pics of my first Gibson Les Paul (and R9)
Thanks. I need to learn to use the camera or get a better one. The guitar looks really different in those pics compared to real life.
This guitar is to be HMd. Should be a faded burst this time next year. |
