Greetings and query for used R9

Greetings, long time lurker and 1st time poster here

Currently hunting for a R9

Was hunting around the bay, (I don't live in the states) and came across this guitar, very interested but doesn't have the COA as well as lifton case

Is 3500 fair in this market?

Re: Greetings and query for used R9

Hello, where are you from?.

That guitar is looking great and the price is just right for that kind of top on an R9, go fot it.!!!

But before you make any deal, ask for more photos of it, the seller has great feedback and has MANY transactions with 5 stars, but that does not makes him/her and expert of historics LPs.

The COA is not that important and the black case is actually better for protection you guitar.

Re: Greetings and query for used R9

Hello, I am from Singapore

I have seen more pics of the guitar and it looked good to me, fairly decent weight at 8.75 lbs, if anything the colour of the top was redder on the edges without camera flash

I don't really care about the COA though I did want a lifton case for "historic accuracy" but end of the day, I just want a player not something to collect for a fair price

Thanks for the comments

Re: Greetings and query for used R9

Well I just paid $3500 for my 2004 R9 with COA and Lifton case. I know some go for cheaper but if it is the right one then its worth it. That one sure looks nice. If you are the type to consider resale, keep in mind there are a few folks that will simply not buy a Reissue without the COA. However, I am sure there are plenty that will.

Looks cool, let us know if your pull the trigger!

I want a lifton case too, but it will only for the looks of the over all 50īs feel, they are way too over priced and don't protect as good as the black one.

In a concert or a gig no body cares about your guitar case, only you.

There is a very nice or identical COA template around the web, not legal but some said its undistinguished from and original once printed in the same kind of paper, which is not any special one. I don't have a link to the source and its probably already gone from the web as GIbson changed to a more sophisticated COA, the black book.

Re: Greetings and query for used R9

Not too worried about the COA, been looking at this guitar for a while and been lusting for an R9

Usually like to play before buying but not possible in this instance

Was thinking at the very least, if I don't like it I can hock it off without losing much (if anything) and continue my search for a great sounding and playing R9

Some times all that is left is pulling the trigger. I paid 3550 for my 2008 r9 on Ebay - with lifton and COA. Guitar is perfect and a joy to have.

Enjoy that new guit box.
