R9 value questions

Question for the experts here. Looking at a 2004/1959 Reissue 9 40XX. The thing is, it has an "RS Electronics Premium upgarde" and a set of Peter Florence 57HB pickups.

Does this increase or decrease the value of this guitar? I would assume the changes were done at a factory, and will be making sure. The price is approx. $2200. PLease let me know what you guys think.

This thing will look great next to my 1005/R0.

...an R9 at $2200 is a steal,even if it's a plaintop...BTW...changes were done aftermarket...

Re: R9 value questions

Why are you worried? $2200 is an unheard of price for a R9. Just buy it. The RS kit and pickups would be considered an upgrade by players and a no-no by collectors...which are you?

Re: R9 value questions

Well it's almost $2400. I am a player and collecter.......but mostly a player because I can't just look at it. Seller doesn't actually list it as an R9. Hopefully I am correct in thinking it is due to the SER# 9 40XX. He says it's a '59 Reissue......that's an R9 correct?

Thanks again.

Re: R9 value questions

that appears correct.

You better not wait too long thinking about it. At that price it'll be long gone.
