Re: 2008/2009/2010 Les paul Poll:

I want accurate finishs, better pickups and guts like Paper in Oil Caps better more accurate plastic and colors, Nitrocell Relicing should be the owners choice to have done or not Hmmm Limited runs to me sorta makes it too elitist , Let the Market itself drive up the price and demand by quality, dont present and have it mandated before hand

As far as pup's thats really just a toss of the coin isnt it. What some like some dont. So what would be chosen as most accurate pup? As for switch tips just gimme one that doesnt break off.

The rarity of material & the price gouging of the suppliers you can thank for the increased prices,,, Brazilian is getting very hard to come by ( even Historic Makeover is running very low) Light weight mahogany is another challenge next near impossible

I agree, but if we got all of that, we would likely get a $10,000 historic from Gibson. They would charge an extra $2000 for the use of hide glue alone!

do you realize with hide glue a neck joint alone should be clamped 1 week for it to cure.. alot of down time

Re: 2008/2009/2010 Les paul Poll:

I Think as long as the constuction specifications are correct,by this I mean
timbers, binding plastics, neck inlay plastics and overall woodworking accuracies. Then, the hardware is not as important because it could be swopped easily for after markert stuff. As long as the basic guitar is spot on then your average buyer could fix the rest.

Make the standard in craftsmanship the same, no matter what the price is. Shouldn't have to spend more for quality. Pride in workmanship is what it should be about.

Re: 2008/2009/2010 Les paul Poll:

I think better wood would be my first choice and hide glue (even though that wasn't a choice). Most of the rest can be upgraded by the individual owner based on what they feel is important. If Gibson added every little detail like that in one swoop we would be looking at a five figure instrument. Anyway, yes all these options would be nice to have.

hide glue slows down the production drying time.

I have been hearing a buzz from some insiders that Gibson has purchased some really good wood & the inlays have been made available to them if they chose to close the deal Dare I say the lil' B word as well
