I love the cherry on the right!

I might not quite qualify as an Aussie, but I have close family over there. How good are we at the sitting down sports

That cherry looks like lollies

Re: Aussie members with Historic LP's

Just a streaked Fretboard. There's been many dsicussions about them. There is no structural problem, in fact out of all the Reissues in the store this guitar smoked them soundwise. However because of the streak it was reduced from $6.3K to $3.5 so I'm not complaining. I may put a Braz board on it, but I can't bring myself to mess with its tone yet (well the electronics will be changed, but the acoustic tone is what I look for).

Re: Aussie members with Historic LP's

Gidday cobbers, fair dinkum, etc. (Sorry, limited knowledge of the Aussie lingo).

Personally I LOVE that streaked fretboard. No way I'd change it if it were mine. It's the unique features in the wood that make individual guitars special IMO.

First it was UK historic owners...now it's Aussie historic owners.
...it's discrimination, I tell you...DISCRIMINATION!!
That's it, I'm starting the Canadian historic owners thread.

Why don't you Canadian's just join up with us Aussies, we need the numbers ...we'll teach you words like "strewth" and "bonzer" plus we'll throw in Kylie to call your very own (if you want her)

Here's my lone R0

Funny thing is that our lingo really stems from the penal colony days, and comes directly from English cockney slang... we are your cousins down under.

Yup, much of the slang is how the Poms spoke back in the 19th century when they first came over. The words have died out back home but live on, more or less, over here. And you can keep Kylie Minogue.

I'll put my hand up for an Aussie Historic, but I only have about 3 photos of it and they've been on here before...

Re: Aussie members with Historic LP's

Hi,

Fellow Aussies, not wanting to be a smart arse or give a history lesson but "back in the 19th century when they first came over"?

The first settlement was in 1787 = 18th century!

Fully 50% of convicts were Irish - the rest Scots and English.

"Fair dinkum" is in fact apparently from Chinese (Cantonese) "ding kam" meaning gold (and 1850s Gold Rush lingo).

As for the notorious kylie - she is regarded as the most non musical export this country has ever produced - she certainly can't play the guitar or any other musical instrument and we all know she certainly can't sing

Thus endeth the history lesson

Red Barron - that R0 is STUNNING!

Thanks guy's.

Here's a pic that shows off the grain nicely.

Mark, you've got an amazing collection, I'd love to try them all one day.

Rich, I think your R8 looks very cool, nice subtle flame in the top, have you taken any more pics?

Thanks. I have had both guitars for about 2 years now and wouldn't get rid of them for anything.

BTW, that is a hell of a collection of historic LP's that you have!
