Show your Customs!!!!

Being a Custom freak., I decided to put up a custom thread only for LP Customs.

NOT SO FINEPRINT: THIS IS NOT SPAM, THESE ARE OWN PERSONAL GUITARS THAT ARE NOT FOR SALE. AS I KEEP GETTING BUGGED ABOUT SPAMMING.

Let's see them.

This is my 61 LP Custom with sidways vibrola (Vintage)

This is my #1 Keef Custom given to me by Kim of Vintage Checkout, it's got a vintage neck ring for mojo! lol

My 57 Bigsby & non bigsby

My 57 Cherry custom (Soon to be 59 Custom thanks to good pal Dave Johnson)

And last but not least my 54 Custom with Klusions!

Re: Show your Customs!!!!

Hi,
really nice shots! Wow! I had three customs, first a blackie in 1980 and then a darkburst in 1984 (to be seen on the pic, second from left) and in 1990 a cherry sunburst custom. Now after seeing those nice shots I wished I hadn´t sold them.

Thanks. I worked a whole summer at a hardware store for $1.65 per hour and bought that guitar at Betnun's Music in Hollywood. Hell, I had to go back and buy the case later cuz I could only scrape together the $475 for the guitar at the time (33 years ago now).

Of course, now that it's valued & insured for $40k...I look like a genius for buying it, not just a 16 year old kid that wanted the guitar shown on the back of the Mayall/Beano album that Clapton is holding...which was my basis for buying it in the first place.

I've got about 7 trillion notes played on that guitar...or more.

Thats a great story. It's cool that you kept it all these years. Most people sold em off. What an awesome piece to have.

Just lucky, I guess. I really wanted the 71 LP Custom Sunburst, but that was $525 and I didn't have the $$$. Lucky me, I guess! Here's me onstage with it in 1975...gotta love that mop look hairstyle, eh?

Re: Show your Customs!!!!

1977, all original(except schallers that were added by the previous owner and are equally vintage).
Not a scratch on it. The frets are original with absolutely minimal wear(my 2000 les paul's frets are in worse shape!)

Need a new picture, but this is my 92 custom plus.
Just back from a new nut and fretmill from orbiter guitars, it's got a set of WB 67-07's.

I'm in the process of putting the old pups back in her now. When I find some spare time that is.

Nice! Mine is starting to look like that too, but its a natural top instead of white, so its harder to see the checking.

I love it! Play wear adds character.
