Sup fellas.... Bloomfield question....

Been rocking out to one of his albums lates (one with bw picture of him with the Tele) Man do I love figuring out this guys licks... but there are a few I just don't have the time to devote to desiphering. I was hoping one of you knew where I could score some good tabs of his.

Much appreciated.

I'm not a really big user of tabs but I could see why you want them. Sometimes its hard to tell if he's bending or not and stuff like that, his playing is so loose. It seems to me pretty much of all his stuff is minor pentatonic with some blue notes and chromatic notes, though. It doesn't sound like a scale when he plays it though, it sounds like magic.

Re: Sup fellas.... Bloomfield question....

Minor pentatonic, eh? lol Dunno what that is off hand, but I'll be sure to look that up. Been playing for 15 years but never got into the technical side of things till now. I appreciate it.

He bangs around alot on the same 3 notes patterned and then blows off to something similar but with a note or two added to it. The formula is f-ing fantastic. It sounds like he's doing so much when really it's sooooo little changing. I'm amazed by it. I'm almost there, but it's just those last few licks that've got me. Just gonna have to sit down with a pen and paper and knock it out on a rainy day.

Thanks guys!

Re: Sup fellas.... Bloomfield question....

if you can find a used book store with guitar mags, there were a few lessons printed as I recall.

What I do is just play along and try things out.. somtimes they work and somtimes they dont. Whenever I listen to him I imagine how raw it would have sounded if you have seen him play live! Amazing player!

Re: Sup fellas.... Bloomfield question....

off topic, the guys in the band give me shit sometimes for counting in too fast. I sent them this link
YouTube - Electric Flag - Drinkin' Wine

now THAT is fast - listen to the start count.

Re: Sup fellas.... Bloomfield question....

Was reading in the Bloomers book about the fast count in...he said they were real nervous so played the set too quick. I wish there was some more footage of it out there on the net..anyone?
