Hey Guys,

Re: Guitar Program
A good free audio editing program is Audacity. It is open source, and a quality piece of software considering the cost.
It can certainly slow things down while preserving the pitch. It also has many, many other capabilities, including multi-track audio editing. It might be a bit overkill for what you want to do, but it can do it. See Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder |

As an additional note, here's a screenshot from the Audacity feature that you would want to use:

Re: Guitar Program
Audicity is really good. You can import MP3's, and then you can record to the track. Like if you start to record a track at the beginning, with an imported MP3, you will be able to hear the song you are playing, and play along.

Re: Guitar Program
I use one called "Amazing Slow Downer" for Macs.. works perfectly for me. Allows you to slow down or speed up without affecting pitch, and lets you set loops as long or short as you like.
