Yeah, what can you say that hasn't been said? Frighteningly good - that rare, rare blend of technical virtuosity and passionate vibe. His cover of Little Wing is one of my faves. He is missed.

the guy was SOOOOO aggressive with his picking. Whenever I play I try to re-create that attack and just sound like a jumbled mess as I have no accuracy on what strings I hit. Such talent...

I just noticed that myself today . His strumming is so wide that it has dug a groove in the upper body of his guitar

yup, and you would think that he used a very pointy pick to do that...but SRV used the round end of the pick to get more string response. It's like stabbing yourself with a spoon.

ippon20, part of his clear, concise attack was his combination of high action and 12 gauge strings. The man's fingers must have been nickel-wound...I tried 12's once and said never again!
