White Stripes Jolene chord?

I've been looking all over for a particualar chord played on the third fret. Every internet tab says Dm, C, and F but I know he's playing something at the third fret.

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

I can play F & C at the 3rd fret. Dm, not so much...

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

You can play a C sus2 or C maj9 only fretting the 3rd fret.

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

Ok. The shape of the C at the third fret looks like what he's playing. Apparently he's using the C in two different voicings.

Close but no cigar for me. I'm leaning more toward a C5 at the third for me. I'm planning a trip to Best Buy tomorrow to pick up "Under Black Pool Lights". The video quality seems a little questionable on the DVD but there is Glastonburry 2002 version that crystal clear. You can see exactly what he's doing except everytime he went to the third fret it went out of frame.

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

C5 is just a lazy version of the C barre chord, right?

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

C5- means 'power chord' to me (root and 5th).

Re: White Stripes Jolene chord?

Thanks for the replies. I have the chords sorted out. I found out that Jack uses his pinky to barre power chords. Visually, I think that's what was throwing me off.

Now, there are two short heavy riffs played twice. I know the first riff but the second one is giving me trouble. I'm not sure but he seems to play the Dmsus2, chops at it (down, up, down, up?) then plays Dmsus2 again. Anyone?
