Soloing

Ok just a quick question how do you people solo I mean the 1 note at a time soloing. Do you go up the scale or down or mix and match I no the pentatonic scale also known as the rock scale but would I need to know more scales or make my own?

You can do a lot with just the pentatonic scales. The best way to practice soloing is just improvise over recordings imo.

Agreeing with Mr. Boredom on the most part, but usually before you can improvise you have to develope a style of playing. To do this you usually have to imitate someone elses playing first. So basically, what I'm saying is, to learn some solo's by someone else first.

Knockin' On Heavens Door - Guns N' Roses

Try to learn at least one of these, all the way through. After you've leanred to play a solo, you'll begin to be able to break away from the original, hence, improvising.
