Need help with scales

Ok guys this will be long so please hang in there.

I'm Working on scales and need a strait answer from someone.

The major and minor penatonic scales. I have learned the a major penatonic scale in 5 shapes. Are the shapes the same for every penatonic scale? How many penatonic scales are there? Now that I know the a major penatonic scale how do I find the other penatonic scales.

Hope that made sence I'm not really sure how to explain my question but I hope that is correct.

Thanks

Re: Need help with scales

Go to the link below. If your practicing the 5 pentatonic scale patterns then the patterns are the same. You just change your starting point on the neck to correspond with the key.

Pentatonic scale vids with tab

Also, if you search the lesson forum you will find other threads on scales that go into more detail.

I hope that helps you

Re: Need help with scales

My problem is accuracy.. I know the scales (since I've played piano for so long), but on the guitar, I just fail sometimes.. like I'll be practicing alternate picking, but i'll randomly FAIL

isn't there a major and a minor for each key? and isn't there also a blues pentatonic scale as well by adding the blues note? if that's the case, then there's 44

i don't mean to be a smart ass ok?

This might help with the understanding of relative minors..What is a relative minor? - Guitar Noise

also, you might want to check out the book Fretboard Logic... awesome book. Helped me out A LOT. Fretboard Logic Website - Welcome to Bill Edwards Publishing
