Some people are just so jaded and bitter, that anytime someone has a reputation for greatness, they become resentful, maybe jealous. Ive met alot of guitar players who talk trash about Hendrix, but ask them who they like, and 9 times out of 10, their hero is someone who worshipped Hendrix. His influence is so expansive people dont even realize how much he shaped the trajectory of music and guitar playing that came after him

The more I play and the more I learn about music, the more I am just flat out amazed at his musical style and ability, when I listen to him.

As guitar players progress in ability I think most move from learning from a teacher to learning by listening to and copying the great players - Hendrix is a potential lifetime of guitar study material.
