Man I loved my 5 year old XP machine, but got a quad core with 64 bit Windows 7.

Lightroom runs in 64 bit and is soooo much smoother.

I'm still waiting for my new monitor to get here, then I'll be really happy. Not a huge jump but going from 19" to 23".

I just wanted an idea of the workflow change so I grabbed a couple images I shot a couple months ago and tweaked them a little.

This one was just white balance mostly. I cooled it way down. The original was blown out in red and yellow. For shits and grins I went the opposite direction.



This one I cropped to make the gradient even and just hit a few auto fix buttons.

I'll tell ya one thing. The new computer is cool, but the new monitor is amazing. Went from a 19" 5:4 to a 23" 1080p. I still run the old monitor on the vga out, but the new monitor plugged into the hdmi makes it look feeble. Colors are sooo much richer and contrast is poppin'. Makes me wonder how I ever edited photos on that old monitor.

Lightroom loves using two monitors. I put the main window with all the sliders and presets on the old monitor and then full screen the pic I'm working on on the new. Soooo much easier to see everything.
