Okey, please tell me WHEN to get macbook pro ? Looking at Refurbished model as you have mentioned. But do they come with LIION or Snow Leopard ?

Also .... which of the following is the best option ? I understand the higher number, the bigger/faster it is. But why when it gets fast, the HD gets lower ? I am also thinking 750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm is better than 12GB Solid State Drive since it gives you SO MUCH more memory ? I am bit confused by these numbers.

Depends on the intended use. Flash memory is more durable and much quicker to access, however, it's very expensive. If you want the best go with Fusion IO, Woz' new company, but expect to sell your should to the devil just to make the down payment!

In general the faster the HD the better it is. If you need video editing on the fly, instant rendering and stuff like that you'll be better off with the Flash drive, although it's a bit ridiculous because video files are also so large a 120 GB flash drive is not going to be enough.

I've done a lot of AV stuff and never had a single issue using a normal ATA drive, so if it was me, I'd get the 500GB at 7200 RPM.

You need to remember it's a powerbook intended to be portable. You can and probably will have a bigger monitor and a couple external USB drives at home, so you can expand later.

You can go ahead and get your powerbook now, the word on the street is that only MacBook airs will be updated this time around. PowerBooks will be updated later this year. There's plans for a Retina display on the MacBook Air and iPad 3 but no mention of PowerBooks.

You can wait just to be sure, Lion should be out on Thursday or so they say, but I don't think there's any plans for new hardware this week, there's no mention of anything in the latest WWDC.

If you have a large display at home you can use that with your powerbook and as a stand alone HDTV too if you want (I know how to do that, pretty simple and cheap! lol)....

IMHO, and this is as personal as it gets, I don't like huge notebooks, if the key is portability a small notebook will do as long as it's got the chipset to handle everything you want, you don't need a huge screen on the road, that's what your display is for at home.

I had last years 17" MBP and the 72rpm drive cut me down about an hour or so in battery for not much speed tradeoff.I went with a scorpio blue 54rpm and it was stellar in terms of access & battery life.

I agree Apple is way too expensive when it comes to upgrade. The most obvious example is their displays.

Yes, Apple displays are amazing but the price is absolutely ridiculous! It's like priced according to some rules nobody understands, sometimes triple the price of a similar monitor made by somebody else.
