i finally have my strat, its replacing my original 59 sold long ago, a MIM but i couldn't be happier the only real difference (other than the year) is the fretboard, my original was rosewood.

i ordered it through America because if i ordered it direct from Mexico I'd get the rejects (i have before), the neck feels just right, not as smooth as my 59' was but still it's great.

    Hola amigos! Que tal?

I just put a SD Hot Rails in my bridge and now I love my Strat more than ever! (Apologies to the God of Strict Standards)

    Yo.

I have 2 MIM Strats - a black one with an H/S/S setup (rosewood neck) and a Midnight blue one, S/S/S (maple neck). Love 'em both. No MIM shame here!

    Hello all!!
I found this forum as I love my LP. I also have a MIM Strat that I love. Nice to see an MIM group on this site.

Interesting - one thing I'd consider trying (since you're rewiring everything anyway) would be to exclude any tone control and wire up a volume knob for each pickup. That, coupled with the 5 way selector and S1 switching could yield a TON of different tone options. Never heard of this being done before, either, so it would be extremely unique.

mmcquain, that's beautiful! Are those Tex Mex pickups? Love the S1 switching - I had that done on my 60th Anniv MIM Strat!
    --------------------------------------------

I think they are the Tex Mex pickups but I haven't checked to see what was stock on the 2000 Super Strats. I'm going to end up selling that pickguard and pickups in the pics below since I'm replacing the guts of this guitar. I'm going without the switching (had it on a Deluxe Players Strat a while back but I never used it). I'm putting SCN pickups in it (can't stand any hum and I had a set here). Still trying to decide how I want to wire it up... may end up with 2 volume controls (bridge and neck?) with a master tone knob... just not sure what I want. I'll post pics when I'm done tweaking her.

Here's my 2000 MIM Fender Super Strat (the forerunner of today's Deluxe Players Strat). I am in the process of rewiring it and adding SCN pickups, etc. These pics are from the eBay seller I got it from. I've replaced the pickguard since he'd left the protective plastic on it so long that it has discolored the guard!

So it's not Mexican but maybe some Fender porn will attract some more action?!
