One Piece Les Paul Classic Body Back?

I have what appears to be a 2000 Les Paul Classic with Classic instead of Model on the headstock next to Les Paul. I have seen the tour through the Nashville Gibson factory. They show them using 3 pieces of wood for the bodies. I have heard that they always used at lease 2 pieces of wood on the body back. My Paul clearly has a one piece body back evident in the grain that is consistent across the entire back of the guitar and the rear where the strap button is attached. If you look at the guitar edge on from the bottom of the body you can clearly see the grain. My other 92' has at least 2 pieces to the body. Does anyone else have any information about this issue?

My 2001 Classic Plus is a one piece back.

Two piece backs on Classics didn't start till 03 or 04 I think.

i have an 07 and it still looks one piece, the top looks like its been bookmatched but i dont think it is

My 92 Classic is a one piece

I think they were 1 piece until 93. After that they were 2 piece, unless you have a classic plus. I have a 95 classic plus with a flame top and 1 piece back that says les paul classic on the headstock. Check under your neck pickup on the next string change. See if it has "cp, or cpp" in pencil. If so its a classic premium plus, or a classic plus.

My 92 Classic only has amber and a date stamped into the bridge pickup cavity, but when I called Gibson, they said it was a Classic Plus.

Ive had a 2000 and a 2003 both were one piece. The first I remember seeing anyone mention two piece backs was 03. A few people on the LP forum posted them. But even then there were more 1 piece than 2 (this was back when they still had the ABR-1 too)
