I say it's always about both. And i wouldn't like to have a fugly guitar, no matter how good the sound may be.

If it weren't for the Abalone purfling binding, and the overly flamed fretboard, it wouldn't be a bad looking LP, but that's WAY too much flash, for WAY too much money!

But I love how many people here would say they have some ugly guitars that they love and play amazing.

So I think this thread answer the other thread (what matters most: Playability vs appearance.)

Um originally they came with three different inlays, the flame was one of them.
