Loop Station
Anyone have any suggestions for a looper station? I am looking at the Boss Loop station. Are there any others that I should look at? My main purpose is to lay down some rhythm to play some leads over but some bells and whistles might be cool. Also, I am new to the pedal thing, I saw a looper pedal for true bypass, Keeley makes one, what is that? I don't think it's what I'm looking for is it?

Re: Loop Station
I know Digitech makes a popular one.
Or There is the Digitech GNX4, which has the built in looper + a high quality drum machine and all kinds of effects and amp simulators. Only thing is - it needs to go through active (powered) monitors to sound good (doesn't sound very good through amps). |

Re: Loop Station
Thanks the Digitech looks pretty cool but does anyone know if it is really $120 better than the boss loop station?

Re: Loop Station
I picked up a Boss RC-2 Loop Station a couple of weeks ago, and though I hasven't had a chance to really put it through much work, what I have done so far fits my needs. It has several drum tracks built in, which aren't that great, but once you lay a couple of loops over it, it does the job. So, pick a drum track, lay down a rythym, and then another, a couple of coloring tracks, and off to lead-ville. Fun, simple effective, and doesn't bring any attitude to the table.

Re: Loop Station
I have the BOSS RC-2
I like it better than the larger RC-20 because it has real sounding drum patterns to play along with (instead of just a click track). It's great. The ONLY downside is that you have to bend over constantly to operate it. I ended up using it on a shelf, but then triggering the record is a little more difficult. It has options for external pedals but the do other functions. I wish you could just connect up an external pedal that could replace the main one so you could trigger on the floor and do the rest while standing. -Eddie |
