Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

I was fortunate enough to snag one of these off eBay a while back. I do believe these are mostly in Europe but some USA Vendors had a few as well. Not so sure that's still the case though.

Refinished her in an 'Opened Pore' Gloss Nitro using the original Factory Cherry.

Since I already had an R6 I sold her off soon after the refin.

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

I might have to give one of these another look. I absolutely love the idea, but the one I tried locally just seemed too dark sounding with not as much character as the regular humbucker version. Could have just been that one guitar or amp, or just an off day lol, because I almost always love a P90 equipped guitar!

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

I'd love a carved top, P-90 equipped LP, but Gibson decided for whatever reason not to make these available in the states, or at least not readily available.

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

I dont know why they are so scarce here, I'd love to have one just as everyone I know thats seen pictures wants one. I did see one on an atlanta craaigs list, but he wants $2K for it due to it being so rare...in that price you have other better options IMO, by gibson, Rist workhorse or other high end makes. At under a grand it looks killer though.

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

Wow, that's awesome. They should make this a regular production model. All mahogany with p90s at the studio price point? I know a lot of people who would buy that, myself included.

Hell, I'd drop a mini in the bridge and have a beastly variety of sound between that guitar and my Custom.

There is one at my local music store, right now. $1500 Canadian. If I wanted another Studio, I'd buy it.

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

I'd pick one up in a heart beat at the normal LP worn finish price, if your not happy with the look...you could always try and refinish it yourself or find someone with the skills to make it happen, I've seen some absoultely stunning worn studio makeovers, and soon to have one myself

Re: Les Paul Studio Worn P-90

There's one hanging in a local shop by me in worn cherry for $900. Doesn't seem like too high for a 'rare' model.

Damn, that sounds like a strat on steroids. Now I know why so many people mistake the solo in another brick in the wall for a strat.
