Decipher writing inside the pickup cavity?

I am installing different pickups in my LP.

I notice there is a "code" or something in the pickup cavity. Does anyone know what these mean?

Not that it really makes a ratsass difference, I love the guitar.

But just wondering...

Any help is appreciated.

I'm gonna guess "worn brown" and "Les Paul Studio."

If I worked at Gibson, I would be tempted to write random things in there.

In my 1972 Super Six Reverb the guy that did the soldering signed the amp inside the chassis.

Yup, my worn cherry reflects the same thing

In the process of being refinished

Your worn brown has a beatiful top by the way

Takes a couple of applications & there is some finish sanding involved but this stuff works great on the VM's for getting into the pores & removing all the factory stain.

Re: Decipher writing inside the pickup cavity?

I thought your wife did all the stripping

Last is doing the makeover, he's done some truely remarkable refinins on VM's and other models

In '92, they used nice stamps. There's also a hand-written "Nat" there (for "Natural"), but it's almost impossible to see through the finish.

Re: Decipher writing inside the pickup cavity?

Ya know it's weird cause she loves to get involved with my projects & has become a pro @ soldering.

She's built me a nice 5E3 Tweed Deluxe, modded some other amps for me & built around 5 pedals so far as well as doing all the electronics for my refins.

She loves seeing the grain pop out from underneath all that stain. She won't touch a piece of sand paper though, too much work!
