A southern rock revival would be pretty cool.

"Blue" by LeAnn Rimes. Learn the guitar part, and the vocal on guitar.

Re: what are some good country guitar solos?

Well first you'd have to find a good country song. You might be a while.

Re: what are some good country guitar solos?

I like most of anything by the Desert Rose Band (John Jorgenson) or the Hellecasters (John Jorgenson, Will Ray and Jerry Donahue)

All pretty amazing country pickers.

Re: what are some good country guitar solos?

The Cars, "Just What I Needed" (by lefty Elliott Easton, around 1:50 in) has always been a favorite. [Same as when I hear that brief but note-perfect lead in Linda Rondstadt's "You're No Good" coming up -- absolutely must stop and pay attention]...

"My Best Friend's Girl" has another powerpacked country lead (around 1:55):

Seriously. The Best. Country guitar solos. Both of them.

Mr. Easton's a prolific poster and has over 2,000 on "the other forum."

Re: what are some good country guitar solos?

Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, Jerry Reed , anything by Chester, Albert Lee, Merle Travis, Roy Clark there are no end of stuff that is very noteworthy. Buddy Emmons is another try to transpose his pedal stuff out sometime.

Re: what are some good country guitar solos?

Tune your radio till you get white-noise static, that's rockin'... Sorry guys.
Kieth Urban is pretty cool.

Enlighten me but do many guitar players get into country hoping they're gonna play some screaming solo's? I though solo's in country music were like a 10-second break for the singer to remember what woman he was bitching about. -- Sorry, a bit below the belt, but I'm bored...
