Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

Is everyone sure about the serial # thing? I just got mine (yay!), and according to this:

Nashville Plant, TN, USA
February 14th, 2008
Production Number: 89

But why would there be ones with a higher production number (i.e. built later), that are dated earlier? That seems suspicious...

Why suspicious? It was either the first one built, the 1600th built or any in between.
I took some new pic the other day.

Just in case you couldn't tell, I love my Slash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

Right, but what I'm saying is that if a plant builds a guitar on Day 3, and builds 20 guitars a day (as an example), then let's assume the guitars should be number 41-60. Then, on Day 4, it builds 61-80.

So it wouldn't make sense for me to buy a guitar that is #65 but built on Day 2, and for you to have a guitar that's #29 but Day 5, right? That's what seems to be going on...

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

I see, your saying that some of the days aren't matching up with the number of the build. Hmmm interesting. All I know is they were very Limited, no scams because Nashville G/C only got a small stack, say 10 or so. Nashville Gibson Showcase got ZERO. I don't know how many other stores got but I think there was a legitimate 1600 run.

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that something bad is happening to us here, I just meant that maybe the way we're calculating our guitar # isn't correct. I mean, I'd be tickled to know that mine is really #89 out of 1600, that sounds cool to be in that first 100, but honestly, it's hard to tell if that's real...

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

What colour is that?? It looks too greenish to be Tobacco Burst in some pics.. Not a big fan of it myself (No offence intended there), but it has a nice flame

Enjoy it!!

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

It's Tobacco Sunburst - it's honestly so much prettier in person, I'm shocked! A lot of the brilliance gets lost, I think, from flash photography.

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

i recently bought a usa slash standard, i think my guitar is really special because in the shop i went to buy it i met my guitar idol michael angelo batio! he came into the backroom where i was trying it out along with a standard. he talked to me about the guitars and played them both! i was torn between the 2 guitars and he recomended the slash, so 5 minuits later i was outside the store with my slash standard played and recommended by m.a.b.!

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

I bought a used Epi Slash as well so now I have both. I am amazed at the quality the Epi has. It is by far my heaviest LP (way heavier that the Gibby Slash) and it has a monster neck on it. I'm glad it does because I wanted a fat neck guitar to change things up a little. I'm just surprised because it seems like they should have the same neck profile and weight since they are "Signature" models.

The USA Standard is NOT chambered. It is clear on Gibson's website as well as in the official video: "unchambered body, just like Slash wants it."

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

I knew it wasn't chambered, the Epi feels a couple pounds heavier, prolly just because the wood is more dense.

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

Nice collection Jomo. Those are guitars I would enjoy playing (especially your Slash Sig. and the Strat: What exact model is your strat? What is the name of the color?). I should pictures of my collection. As a teaser it includes:
- 2008 Gibson Slash VOS Sig.
- 1996 Gibson Les Paul Classic GoldTop
- 1994 Gibson J-100 Extra
- 1999 Fender Stratocaster Std US Limited Edition wth Flamed Maple Top
- ???? Fender Stratocaster Mex
- 2008 James Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster in Antique Copper
- 2004 PRS Custom
- Gitane D-500
Definitely a versatile collection, all great instruments.. I will post some pics as soon as I get around to do so..

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

I re-strung my Slashes last night. I went ahead and dressed the frets, waxed the guitar, and did the "tonewrap". Took some pics (of course)

The headstocks

Some other shots I took while I was at it. I dressed the fret boards and gave the guitars some wax treatment.

OMG. I'm flooding in my drool. Such a beautiful guitar you have there jomo. The flame is impeccable on it. You're quite lucky.

Re: USA's Slash Signature Les Paul Standard pics

Thanks guys. Si, those are the DR "Red Devils". They play great and sound great.
Edit: However, I had a DR "Black Beauty" pop on my Strat for no reason. I emailed them and they said they were sending me a new set, so we'll see.
