Question Regards Slash Standard Les paul

Hi all
New member here from the Uk. Just got my first Gibson Les paul today (Slash Stardard), Very Happy, Fantastic Guitar. But abit disapointed that 1. There was no case candy, not even a manual!! 2. The certificate was missing Dolphin Music said they were going to look into it, but were very vague. Has anyone else had any problems like this before with this model or others?
Hope I can get some answers, and maybe help others on this forum in time to come.

Hmmm, with my standard I even got a manual. Weird. Deff make sure to get the certificate. Good luck

hey ya man,

if it is one of the newly released models the should of been a lot of case candy, i know the "aged" model comes with a hard back booklet style case a bit like a cd case in size. In it comes a pic of the man himself and on the other side is the cert sealed in behind a perspex frame. there are also the usuall pics, thrust rod cover and the usuall packaging instuctions. . .
as shit as it sounds i'd reakon they took it out of the case because it does look very well presentation wise, it is always an idea to contact another gibson dealer and see what they say, ya might even be able to get a pic of them as proof of what should of been supplied. like jpizzzle said ya should of at least got a A4 sheet of paper saying it is the genuine article

ill check it out with the gibson dealers in dublin (who i used to work for)

I have just seen on another site that the epiphone model comes with the Slash book, picks, certificate, guitar strap, sunglasses and top hat???
Have I made a mistake with buying a Gibson? we will see. Dolphin music are supposed to be getting in touch with Gibson USA for me.

I didn't get anything with my USA Standard. Nada!

If im supposed to get certification etc i will certainly be in touch with CodaMusic who sent me mine.

Pleeease update this thread if anything new comes to light.

Glad to know Im not the only one, but sad to hear that yet again we dont get what we pay for!!

im not fussed about manuals and books etc but if i'm missing a certificate then shit will hit the fan! lol I love the guitar too much to be worried about 'candy' but a cert is the holy grail to a limited run!

Get that cert! Without it, demand they send you another guitar. For the money, you need proof of purchase.

The rest of the stuff is neato, but not as important as that certificate!

I will request one as soon as i'm certain that it should arrive with one. Oo oo I knew the VOS one came with one, i'll check ebay sales to see if any have the guitar posted with Cert etc.

Bought my standard LP Std from Dawsons, Manchester, I didn't get a certificate either!

Did get a starter pack with a decent lead, strap, winder, picks, polish and a cloth though.

I contacted my supplier also regarding the certificate and they said it didn't come with one. Not believing them i contacted Gibson, who also informed me that it didn't come with one ...

i'd be happy with a piece blotting paper saying ' Number : _ of 1600. Limited Run, Signed - Mr Gibson'

I mean i don't expect Orville to sign it but christ, I want a piece of paper for my hard earned money!

So random that the Epiphone gets a hat and sunglasses, the full bag of mashing yet the dearer, possibly more limited has jack!

there's case candy...check my thread titled "It has begun" and you can see what people are selling on ebay and what each item comes with.

Ask the dealer WTF. It comes with all the stuff from gibson. But once the dealer gets it ???
Unless it is in a security sealed box, anything will happen at the dealer.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Looks like Dolphin Music have got it wrong, so Im going to give them a piece of my mind!!!
If the Guitar is limited to 1600 worldwide, how come the serial number just seems to be a run of the mill production model?
How do I find out what number guitar mine is?
