Got my Slash Les Paul Standard last night . . 'Don't tell Gibson'

Got my guitar last night ahead of schedule, the email i got was, 'we have shipped it early, don't tell Gibson.'

I won't utter a word! This guitar is great, such an unusual finish, with a nice top.

Anyone else got the Slash Gibby early?

I'll post some pics when get back from work tonight if anyones interested. Then i'll proceed to play on it allll nite

Here's a few to put you on, really rushed because i've been busy, cams still on my manual setting for gig pics so not the best, but they'll do for now! . . . . . i do requests lol so if you want a particular pic i'll post it if i can

Just checked your pics out, great choice! I think it's great how alternate each top is on them! No two seem to be alike!

I wish we could post full size images on here then we could really show are tops off!

Hey, db1408 and reg123: How does your LP Slash sound? Do you know if these guitars have long neck tenons? I know the Epiphone ones do but not sure about Gibson.

Yup, long tenon and the pickups are just perfect. The balance in weight is perfect, so is the neck shape. The sound is so versatile. Roll the volume up to about 7 - 10 and your rocking with guns style tonal qualities and response, roll it down to 3 and you have a light blues quality.

It's a versatile guitar! the weighting is great as i find the modern chambered bodies a little too light for my stance.

I didn't realize that the Gibson USA version had a long tenon - I called Gibson 24/7 and they told me that the Epiphone does have the long tenon, but that the USA model will not. (if it did have the long tenon - I would think that Gibson would have mentioned it on the site??)

Appologies if i'm mistaken. Thought i read that it had the long tenon. Maybe i'm numb but i can't tell the difference so i'll have to go with wht i'm told.

I changed my strings tonight , checked under the pickup ,doesn`t have a long neck tenon. But it still sounds beautiful..

I just saw a few of them tonight at my local GC. Sign says they have 25, first come first serve Apr 1st at 2pm. The three I saw had mediocre tops-the one in this post is far superior.

25! Wow. I think there are 3 in the entire state of Montana, all at the same shop (not the one in my city). When I called and asked how many they were getting - they said that I could pay early and they'd hold one for me til April1. It sure was tempting. My wife would have my balls if I dropped that much $$ right now, though.

Can't understand why the USA version has a short tenon vs a long one on the Epi!
