Got my Slash Les Paul Standard last night . . 'Don't tell Gibson' - Page 2

Man that USA standard is sweet! The only thing bugging me...is the volume and tone knob color.

I really want one.

Man one side of me is happy for you guys that you are getting the guitars you want but the other side of me is pissed cause it's bullshit that some dealers will give them up early and some are playing the "April 1st" game with them.

IMO the dealers that released early should be reported to Gibson and have there contract yanked. Fair is fair, if one person has to go to a dealer at a specific time on April 1st everyone should, or they should just be sold as they hit and the lucky people are the ones that get there first anyway.

It's nothing but a marketing hype BS tactic anyway.

I'll be at the shop at 4 waiting on mine tomorrow. I did get to play one at GC on Sunday. They had one of each (Epi, Std and Custom) hanging at a 6 year olds eye level

Played real nice, good tone, and I liked the neck profile. So I figured I'd get one. I like it as a guitar to play and if it does go up in value at some point I'll have something.

Congrats guys on getting yours, that side of me is still there

I know it's a silly question but WTF is written in the banner under the Slash logo? It looks like "R&FNR!" If that's what it is, what does it stand for?

Thanks! I knew it had to be something like that... Kind of like Kerry King's "KFK" acronym.

On the same subject, although I love the Slash graphics, I wish that the headstock still had the "Les Paul" script in addition to the graphic. Maybe the headstock would have been too busy...

Best top I have seen on one of these things. The best top I saw locally was on the Epi one...and it had the long tenon. Not sure what gibby is thinking there.
