What did you pay for your LP ?
I am interested in what the LP cost in the different countrys. It seems, that the Gibsons cost much less in Germany, than in the US.
Here in Germany: Studio: 900-1100 € = ca. 1340 - 1640$ Trad.: 1800€ = ca. 2680$ Standard 08: 1900€ = ca. 2830$ Custom: ca. 2700€ = ca. 4000$

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
Lets put it this way... I bought my R8 from a shop back in the states and had it shiiped here and paid the customs fees; it still cost less than buying a used R8 here!

Let's take the most expensive US dealer, Guitar Center! Trad.: German price: $2680; Guitar Center: $1900 Standard: German price: $2830; Guitar Center: $2200 Custom: German price: $4000; Guitar Center: $3900 R8 VOS: German price: $3920; Guitar Center: $3700 Taking into account that there are places in the US were you can get new Gibsons for far less money than at Guitar Center, I'd say we pay considerably more for Gibsons, here in Germany. |

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
Hehe. Well, they only show the MSRP (unverbindliche Preisempfehlung).
Just like here in Germany, the MSRP is always significantly higher than the real retail price.

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
and never forget the sales tax.
german prices include 19% sales tax. us prices usually dont´t. sales tax varies from state to state and can be avoided by buying mail order from out of state.

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
I traded my $2500 autographed Zakk Wylde Gibson (neck was twisting) while it was still barely playable straight up for my $3400 2008 ebony Custom.

I'm looking at buying a used '95 Standard [50's neck] in great condition for $1650...do you guys think that is fair or should it in the $1400 - $1500 range?

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
I payed $5,000 for my Les Paul Junior.
Seems at lot, but when you think it costs $15,000 in Australia or $10,000 in the UK I thought I did ok. Next thing on my to do list is find a nice Special or Goldtop. Though I doubt I'll have the money for a 50s Goldtop anytime soon. One day I guess if I get lucky. |

Re: What did you pay for your LP ?
I hope you're not referring to my guitars, because you'd be very wrong, and I'd be very pissed.
