Great looking silverburst! It always throws me off though when I see it. It looks like a cool black and white photo with color added to the surroundings.

I'll have to get some better pics of my Custom taken and post here. It looks almost identical to Robster's HCSB when his was stock. But the binding has yellowed considerably. ('80)

You guys all have nice customs....thanks for sharing. Never really was wild about the Silverburst like some are. In a color picture they look like some sort of Photoshop selective coloring going on, but I bet they play great.

The BB's don't really turn me on all that much either. I think it depends on the guitar....some have made me go "wow...that's a beauty", but not most of them. Harpo has one that looks killer, but the standard BB with the black pickguard doesn't do it for me.

Having said that....the picture below is my dream Custom. (This is actually J Hunter's guitar posted earlier)

You and me both! The Alpine White Custom has been my dream guitar since I was a child, way before I even played. And now I have my own!

I'll try and get some better shots in natural light when the weather gets better.

I have never been fond of HCSB Customs, but this one is just tits. The color is so warm and rich and the 3 pc flamey top looks crazy nice. I love it, bro!

thanks eddie. i am not normally too fond of the hcsb myself. they usually look a bit clownbursty to me. i knew when i saw this one that i had to have her. the pickups used to be stock gold, and it looked really nice, but the pressures of touring and the need for repairs on the road led tp the chrome/uncovered/ tarnished gold combo that you see here. here are a couple of more pics if ya are interested.

I've always wanted an alpine white Custom too. Tommy Shaw had one as did Lindsey Buckingham, both guitarists I hold in high regard.

I happened upon a '68 Black Beauty and never did get the Alpine White or cream one.
Unfortunately I have no still pics of my '68 handy. I did find some videos of me playing it twenty years back, so I'll do some still frames when I get a chance.

I just love BBs. Though, I'd not throw the right White Custom out of bed either, if you now what I mean

I really wanted an R7 BB with 'buckers, but this one came my way at the right price, and here we are. I love the P90 sound, but not the fact that 1/3 of the sound is often hum. I'm working on that. We just shielded the pickups, the pickup cavities , and the pot chamber. Hum went down maybe 15%...........

Since I am a bit addicted to gain, I have to live with it, since this is such a cool tone machine. It sounds and plays not at all like my R9 which is good, since I then have a very wide palate of tones covered.

I may actually play around with it a bit more, either going P100, or perhaps some Deluxe Humbuckers. All will be fine though, no routing or anything, I'm keeping her to be stock at a moments notice. I may go P90 at the neck and 'bucker at the bridge, kinda like a BFG done right. I just want it to look close to stock if possible.
The Alnico IV at the neck is so cool clean, but has no life at all once gain is applied. I guess there is a reason Gibson moved away from that design, but it does have its place.

I remember playing the silverbursts new at E.U. Wurlitzer's in Boston, back in '79-80.
I almost bought one, but my '68 BB came my way and that was all I played for a decade. The silver fades from the edges with time, it seems?
