The only guitar I really wish I had back!

I was just looking at my photobucket page reminiscing over my old guitars. On a side note; I can't believe how many guitars I have bought and sold over the last few years.

Anyway, this is the one guitar I want back

It is a 1973 LP Deluxe. It was beat to hell and it was great. The past owners did some freaky things to it, as you can see. Bridge went from stop-tail to Bigsby (as you can see by the holes) to the Kahler. Tuners were replaced and a very very sweet Bill Lawrence pup in the bridge.

Unfortunately, I had to sell it to finance a different guitar.

Anyone else have the one that got away?

Re: The only guitar I really wish I had back!

58 Burst with a headstock repair. I bought it with DiMarzios installed(and three mini switches....OUCH!) after some clod tried to fix a broken head and nearly decapitated it. Most of the original parts were gone, and the paint was terrible. I put all original parts on it after properly fixing the head, and sold it a few years later.

I'd give any 5 of my guitars(with one exception!) for that thing back.

Re: The only guitar I really wish I had back!

I really miss my Epiphone Prophecy Futura EX. I traded her for a Jackson Kelly that I recently sold. I lost lotsa money, but what can I say? I had major GAS for a Kelly with a Floyd. Thats the only one I really wish I had back.

Re: The only guitar I really wish I had back!

Come to think of it, I would like this one back also. This guitar played magnificently, I couldn't make a mistake when I played it. I just never bonded with it. Kinda felt too fragile and I was always afraid of breaking it. Really, the only reason I really want it back is because I see they sell for $4,000.00 new.

Sounds like a story for another thread that I wouldn't mind reading .

I loved this one - PRS SC250 I ordered new w/birds. Played great, loved the wood grains, & she had a feel to her I loved. Don't ask why I let her go. I'd like her back. Come back to me baby

Re: The only guitar I really wish I had back!

Plenty of guitars I wish I had back but there is one that I still kick myself for selling. It was a G&L ASAT. I got it around 92 or so and it was the best Tele I have ever played. When my first son was born we were broke and I needed money fast so I sold it and some guns for some fast cash. I've since replaced it with another ASAT which is pretty damn good but I still miss the old one. I've kept the ones that I swore I'd never sell so I'm happy I haven't been in a position where I had to.
