Re: Andy Brauer about pickguards and tone
He claims that plastic has a dampening effect on timbre (pronouced tamboor). I guess it might have some logic, but not enough to me.

Re: Andy Brauer about pickguards and tone
I translated it all, and know what it means (but thanks for being helpful). It sounds like we gotta call guy from "The X-Files". They might know something about this case.

Re: Andy Brauer about pickguards and tone
Such a small portion of the narrow edge of the pickguard contacts the body, if even that, so of course it won't impact tone. Probably the two screws holding the pickguard on create more contact.

Re: Andy Brauer about pickguards and tone
I have had Andy work on two of my Historic Les Paul's and its a night and day better. I played his guitar that Slash bought and it was sweet vintage tone.
Mine really sound much better now, Sheptone AB set really nails it. He is right about the plastic. Test- Flick(tap with finger) on a historic ring and then on Vintage clone ring. you can hear it sounds better. I didnt believe it at first too. no joke.
