1990's custom antique burst
how can i find out about my gibson les paul custom. i bought it at elderly in michigan. the guy told me they only made 10. it has a antique burst finish i believe. of course i dont have the serial # today. i have never seen another. i have no idea how to post a photo w/this thread. it is in the recent uploaded photos.

Instead of "antique burst" could it be the vintage sunburst? The tobacco and vintage sunburst look pretty similar to me but the name given would make me think the vintage sunburst may have been what was meant but I don't know if that was a finish that was available at that time.

It looks like one of the special run customs - first one that comes
to mind is the Autum Burst which was stunning & had alot more red in it than yours. I dont think Gibson keeps any of the old pictures of previous models on there website. Which will make it hard to identify. But I dont think it's an Antique Vintage Burst, I have one and it's more yellow in the tear-drop. Meaning, your picture makes it look like it's got more of a woody-orange finish, opposed to yellow. but that might just be the pic. |
