Re: Gibson VS Epiphone

If it were me I'd go for the SG Standard.
But if you really want a Les Paul, go for the faded Studio.

Re: Gibson VS Epiphone

Just make sure you play them first. Gibbys can sound like crap, and one man's crap is another's gold. Don't trip up on saving a few bucks. Get out and play 'em!

Re: Gibson VS Epiphone

Buy what feels best to you but also buy the best you can afford.

I spent a little extra money on a MIJ Strat over a MIM back in 1992. I still own that guitar and it has paid for itself many times over and I have been offered 3x what I paid for it.

In one of Gibson’s classic moments of waste-not-want-not, Les Paul Custom pickguards and pickup rings were used on a few 1957 Goldtops. The result is an elegant and very rare touch on a
classic Les Paul.

Here's my opinion. It's worth what you paid for it.
