Hello from HC, finally got me a Les Paul

Hey guys, new here. I just scored a Gibby LP Studio new from guitar center a couple weeks ago. It is the new for 2009 satin ebony finish. I played a bunch of pauls and sg's and settled on this one. Not my favorite to look at (although its growing on me fast), but it played and sounded great, not to mention, cheapest one to come with a hard case, and only one scratch and they took 20% off

Anyways, here are a couple pics of it (pictures do not do justice to this finish). I am trying to decide if I want to change any cosmetic things about it, but I cannot find any like this online with changes made, so I guess I am gonna have to be first.

yea, i emailed gibson about it. its all mahogany with a 60s neck and 498/490 pickups. im not really sure why people bash the pickups so much, i like them.

Hmmmm..... I'd try something like these changes personally.

Aged Nickel Hardware.

Lose the Pokerchip.

Maybe a different set of knobs?

Nice looking LP~!

Like the Satin Black finish! I'd be tempted to put some creme pickup rings on it to break up all the black.

thanks for all the compliments guys. as far as aged nickel hardware, i was kind of against getting a worn in guitar this time because i want to have something that i could start off with, and look back down the road knowing that all the wear on it came from me owning it, as lame as that might sound.
what is the pokerchip? im assuming the treble/rhythm plate? as far as knobs, i was thinking the reflector type knobs might look sweet on there, along with some chrome pickup pings.
as far as what kinda music i play on it...well i own a fender tex mex strat already for my pink floyd, rhcp, incubus influenced kinda stuff. i also own an old epi shredder from the 80s for all my death metal/shred kinda stuff. its black, 24 fret, neck thru, ebony board, hss, bright green dimarzio super dist, 3 on/off switches with a push/pull, etc. (each of these guitars cost me 100 dollars with a case, so this is a serious purchase for me)
i plan on using this one for some nice chunky rhythms, from classic rock to thrash metal. some of my favorites in these categories go from metallica and tool to some sabbath and zeppelin kinda stuff. sorry for the long rant, got a little carried away there. here are my other toys...

I like them too i think the LP Supreme have the same ones
