Re: Help Budokai
I have been trying to make the decision on which way to go lately. It seems the best answer is to get both. You already have a nice guitar so just keep playing it and save up for a LP. Then when you get your LP you will have an awesome single coil guitar as well as a rockin humbucker guitar, it'll be the best of both worlds.

Re: Help Budokai
I have 2 1983 Strats and I have to admit they have not had near the play time as my LP's. If I had to, I could make it without the Strats but I could NOT make it without the LPs. But that's just my opinion, some people are completely opposite (but I dont know why
).

Re: Help Budokai
If you think you will miss it, then you probably will. There is a lot of great strats out there though, so you could always replace the fender later down the line if needed. I have personally decided to go the MIJ route since my means won't cover a gibson at the moment. Maybe something like that would be a good way for you to have an lp without getting rid of your strat.
For the record I am a huge fender lover, I as well have been overwhelmed by gas due to all these beautiful les pauls on the forum. After deciding I couldn't afford a gibson I was pretty set on getting a MIA strat instead. I just can't pull the trigger though, I don't jones for a strat like I do a LP. Even though I love fender, damn, there is something about the aesetitcs of a LP and that unmistakable tone that I just can't get over. But like I said, maybe a MIJ could be your way of owning both guitars without having to spend 2000 bucks on a gibson

Re: Help Budokai
Sometimes you gotta give up something to get something else. I say if you can work out a deal trade off the Strat, and get an LP, at least you will have something different to play

Re: Help Budokai
There is some great epis out there, you have to look for em but they are definitely there. I might end up going the same route unless I decide to pull the trigger on a MIJ model. There has been some great specimens for sale on ebay lately running anywhere from $600+. I saw a nice Burny go for $570 on the bay not to long ago, that's the price of a plus-top epi

Re: Help Budokai
What kind of Strat do you have and how much do you want for it? See I'm in the opposite position where I want to try a Strat but I'm not selling my LP.

No, I meant to say that I was amazed you have 1446 posts yet still needed to ask those questions... Which led me to ask if you actually read the forum at all. |
