I wanna hear some tone!!!!!
Let's hear em'!!! Let's keep it positive, if someone posts don't cut on their ability or taste. I want to hear you guys play your stuff. I want to hear an R7 through a super reverb, a black beauty through an ac30, an R6 through a plexi, a 61 reissue through a jtm45, etc., etc. I'm sure there's some wildman on here that can do all of that in his living room. Describe your combo so others can get an idea of what they might want. I'd prefer no comments, just "88 standard reverberocket tubescreamer" type stuff. I want every post to be just a description of equipment and be able to hear it. No "wow, yer rockin' it", nothin' but tone. (Sorry nsureit, I moved this to the top so it would get read)

Re: I wanna hear some tone!!!!!
Here's a clip of a little blues improv I did not too long ago.
And here's a clip that's a bit heavier improv. Hope this helps your quest.

I wouldn't be so quick to blow off the Rally entries. Most of them really don't have much if any production involved, and we're in the process of identifying who did each. I, for one, am going to simply ask some entrants how they got that wonderful tone, not go poring through random listings of soundclips by guitar finish.

Re: I wanna hear some tone!!!!!
Here's my old sucky 1 take clip from a while back, recorded on a sucky digital camera, since then I have changed my settings and am shopping around for a Zoom h4n or h2, anyway, this was done on a '89 EPI MIK LP Custom, going through a 5150 head and a 4x12 cab w/ Celestion g12-30 MG's

Re: I wanna hear some tone!!!!!
This is a cool idea but to be able to hear a true comparison, should all the mp3s we post be at the same bitrate? A low bitrate mp3 will emphasize different frequencies over a higher bitrate mp3 - meaning different tone. Also, how well does a youtube video or mp3 truly represent one's tone? With so many variables like your headphones, computer speakers etc. between all of our computers, who knows how your tone is being represented online?
