So, today was the day! Actually, when I went to the shop yesterday, I told them to order a light burst and then I would pick my fave. Well... the finish of the IT just stayed in my mind and deep down I knew it was the finish for me.
It has a nice flame, which I'm hoping to catch better on a sunny day ![]() In Denmark, Gibsons and Fenders are quite expensive (I paid 3K). I could have bought a VOS 57 GT a little cheaper but I didn't like the sound of that one as much as the trad. The latter has a much warmer, bluesy tone and... an LP must have flames!!! Plays awesome, sounds awesome, looks awesome! What more could you possible ask for (exept the Laney Lionheart 5 watt amp I tested it on to go with it lol)Right now, I'm still a little stunned having pressed "accept" on the CC terminal, however, It's a beautiful guitar and I'm sure it will stay with me forever (ain't trading this one for nothing). Heres hoping a strat and an LP and a Vox amp make a good combi. Ps: sorry for the unmade bed and crap pics: I took them quite fast

On the downside, the Traditionals are so popular that if history is any indication (Faded Series, BFG, etc), they'll probably be discontinued by Christmas, and replaced in January 2010 by a "signature" or CS Traditional that's no different, but at 3x the price... I'm not an expert by any means but I really like this guitar. It called for me a lot more than the above mentioned VOS, which sounded harsh due to the BB pus and looked boring (I hate gold tops).

Re: NGD: Les Paul Traditional Iced Tea
Beautiful man!!!
I'm sure its x100 better in person, there's something about the way gibson paints and finishes their guitars that look so much better in person than in pics |

Re: NGD: Les Paul Traditional Iced Tea
Guys, help me out here: I just noticed that there's a LITTLE more space (max 1 millimeter) between the beginning of the neck and the neck pickup ring on the right side compaired to the left side... Is this a fault or could this be because the neck is inserted by hand?
Anything I should worry about? (I'm always very sensitive regarding my new guitars).

Re: NGD: Les Paul Traditional Iced Tea
Nicolai, yours looks really OK. You're looking at minutia, and IMO LP's are NOT about minutia they are about the overall mojo they deliver which a PRS IMO cannot, despite that I think PRS build quality is superior hands down.
