Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
My new Traditional in Light Burst. Got it from Sweetwater.com. I love it! Some people are strongly against buying online but it sure is awesome to open up the case and see that flame maple top in person for the first time.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
No pics to offer (yet), but I got a GLP-T from Sam Ash in Orlando about three weeks or a month ago. Mine looks very much the same as yours, except that the fretboard isn't quite so dark in color; also, the TRC on my specimen says "Traditional" on it.
I love this guitar! It's my first-ever Gibson (I have been a Strat player up until now) and I can't get over how much I like it. I still play the Stratocaster (when I remember that I have one, that is) and probably always will... but ooh, this new Gibson is to die for! Somebody asked me why I suddenly went out and got the Gibson the way I did. The strange truth is that one morning I woke up and simply HAD to have a Les Paul. It was weird how this occurred with no real warning, but that's how it happened. And I am as puzzled by this as are my mates, who were truly astonished when I showed up at practice with a brand new GLP. One of them told me he thought I might be going out of my mind, but the others assured him that I was never quite right in the head to begin with. Whatever! Whether I am crazy or not, I am certainly one happy camper these days. What a great guitar! To those who commented on the neck: since I had never even held a GLP in my hands before the day I actually bought one, I really have no idea how one style neck feels when compared to another. This might have been an advantage for me. As it was, I simply started playing my new GLP without knowing what to expect and so I merely adjusted to it without much by way of consternation. Bottom line is this: my poor old Stratoblaster sulks in its case quite a bit these days as my bros debate whether or not I really went off the deep end (at long last). And sometimes I even kind of feel as though I'm cheating on my wife or something-- like guilty as sin, you know? But hey: at least the Strat isn't in a position to divorce me over it! I love my Traditional! And I do congratulate you! |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Amazing thread! There's only one problem with this thread though: not enough Traditionals in ebony!!

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Killer looking ax dude. If I were a touring guitarist, I'd probably buy an ebony (or goldtop) LP Traditional to compliment my Honey Burst Trad Plus.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
That's what the description said from where I bought it from. I figured it was a plus, but when I got it really looks sharp...so, I call her "supreme" lol

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Hello All,
New forum member here. After playing only Strats for the last 25 years, I thought it was time to get a Les Paul again. I considered the Standard and Traditional, and in the end went with the Traditional. I may add a RS Modern kit to bring out a bit more sparkle, but overall it's a great guitar as is. Here's a pic. Desert Burst of course, and a nice top. I have since replaced the speed knobs with gold top hats and installed a plain Gibson truss rod cover.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Nice guitars, everyone!
I myself have decided to get a traditional as they sound brilliant, my only dilemma now is, considering I cant afford 2, is whether to get Ebony or Gold top. It will be a few months till I have all teh cash so I have time to think about it. Both just look brilliant! I love black guitars but the GT is just amazing! |

What's wrong with letting binding age on it's own. I have an cheapo guitar from 2003 that came with bright white binding and over time it's turned a nice natural yellow, like an old piano's keys. |
