Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
I would imagine they could vary from guitar to guitar. I don't know a lot about buying Gibsons as this is my first but as far as Fenders guitar necks they vary even within the same product line. You have to play the guitar you are going to buy or take the luck of the draw.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
it's my b-day saturday... friday for sure I want to get the guitar. GC Kendall in Miami hasn't been very good to me.
last time I bought a guitar... they wanted to charge me $50 just to order the color they didn't have in stock. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Pickins are thin at Wildwood on Trads at the moment
Wildwood Guitars | Gibson USA | Les Paul Traditional I'm sure inventory will be back up soon 3 or 4 folks here in the last couple of weeks got good deals there. Granted you don't get to play them 1st, but at least you see the actual guitar your getting. When you factor in the tax savings also, IMHO, its worth the wait for shipping. Most would have to get at least 20% off at GC to be net in the same ballpark that Wildwood hooked these guys up at. |

But remember you can get 15% off just by trading something in. It can be anything, a pedal, amp, whatever as long as it's a trade. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
wretched,
A buddy of mine worked at GC years ago and I saw the list of what the stores pay for these guitars, what they sell them for and then the employee purchase price. Trust me they are still making money even giving you 15% or 20% off. Even still where they make their money is on used equipment. The max they will give you is half what they sell it for so look up what they have it listed for used and figure on half being your target number. They try to lowball you and then turn around and mark the guitar way up on the shelf. This also means if you have some used gear lying around that you can trade they are more willing to break even on a new les paul sale because they will be making all their money on the sale of your used gear. Use that to your advantage. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
You got 30 days w/ GC to return the LB if you don't care for it.
Call Troy at WW - he will send you more pics and in sun light. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Does Troy take Guitar Center credit card? That's my problem. The agreement with the wife is $300 a month for 5 months. I guess I could just save that money up but then I wouldn't have a les paul for 5 months! i've already gone 27 years without one so I need it now!

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Yeah it's 6 months no interest. That was key to the entire thing. We have a baby due anytime in the next two weeks and I was told this is my last guitar purchase for a long time. I had to get a les paul.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Just tossing my Traditional Pro into the ring. I really love this thing. It's a super crossover axe with the coil splitting for doing the country gigs along with the classic rock. Enough tones to go around without having to drag out a Fender also to get the spankin' country sounds. I'm glad that Gibson did this variation.

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
And you'd probably have to settle for any color.. Most of them I've played were just terrible, so picking a color wasn't a luxury. I wanted a black one, dammit.
![]() I haven't had much luck with black guitars for some reason. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
Ive noticed the same thing too, I played 6 Trads in one day when I bought mine, the only one that stood out as being any different, was the ebony which sounded lifeless next to the rest. Seems to me Ive noticed that with SGs too

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
One more with less flames.
![]() I am really liking this guitar. 9.45 lbs and plays great. My only concern was it seemed to have no oomph until I realized the pickups were set very, very low. I raised them to where they should be and now we're in business I never pictured myself with a plus top as I've always loved gold tops and ebony. I'll get a gold top with P90s next, but out of all the plus tops I am happy I went with honey burst. |

Re: the official Les Paul Traditional love thread
why do some iced teas have a reddish tint to them?? sometimes on the sides.... like it they are lightbursts instead of iced teas.
i went to GC and almost pulled the trigger on the "iced tea" but it was so red to me. |
