Question Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom?

I've recently heard about this model that Gibson made a while back in the 80s. What does it look/sound/feel like? What are the stock pups? What are the wood/cosmetic specs? I'm not thinking about buying one, just being a Custom owner makes me wonder . If anybody owns one on these forums, please do post pics. I am curious to see what kind of guitar this really is.

Re: Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom?

I have one. I wasnt looking for one but I kinda ran into it.
Sound, It has a brighter tone to it, almost has some Strat like qualities to it. But I can still get those smokey blues tones out of it.
It has a one piece Maple neck and I believe an ebony fret board. It s the 60s tapered neck. Playing it is effortless. ( As It heard the phrase, "plays like butter") I'm able to get the action really low without any buzz.
The Body itself is Adler. Mine I would call tabbaco or dessert burst.
Now what sets these apart is that they added triple binding to the body and it has a bound neck. They had the studio standard and the studio custom. I think both of them came with Tim Shaw PUPs. THe customs also came with gold H/W. I also read that the customs were made with a better grade of wood. I'm not sure what determines better. Unfortunatly these are the only two pics I have that are small enough to upload here. (yeah I know ..photo bucket)
I'd be happy to e-mail you some other ones.....
