Re: TOM Les Paul Axcess
Nope, the link Bole posted says it is weight relieved.
I played one a couple of weeks ago, except it did have the FR. Very comfortable to play. I would buy a non-FR, I'll wait until it comes out in a Custom or Traditional format.

Re: TOM Les Paul Axcess
I bought one in May (with FR), I absolutely love it. Whenever I play my classic antique I find myself reaching for the stick. Seriously, I really love this guitar. While I understand the purist reasoning to want a stop bar, I just look at it as another kind of LP. It stays in tune forever, I love the rib scarf, the shaved heal reminds me of my neck thrus (you can probably tell by my other guitars in my sig that I would appreciate that), the coil tap is a very nice thing to have, the pups sound amazing and I also love the lighter weight of it. I have had four other LP's before I got my Axcess, and to me it was like Gibson made every change I ever wanted and put it into this guitar. I play my Axcess probably around 98% of the time, and I have some very excellent guitars that are being ignored.
I got the gun metal grey because it was $800 cheaper than the ice tea and to tell the truth, I am glad I got it. It is so damn beautiful to me. What is also unbelieveable is I can see the flame through the finish. Seems kind of a waste to cover it up, but for some reason I love that too. It is not a purist LP, but it doesn't pretend to be, which is why it is called the Les Paul Axcess Standard. It is different and it is wonderful. As far as having the LP sound, this guitar freakin growls as much as any LP I ever had, but each one sounded different. I had pancake, I had solid, I had no maple top and I've had chambered and this is by far my favorite. Since the day I bought it, I've never felt so much that I will keep a guitar forever as much as I have this one. Over the past five years, I must have bought and sold at least 20 guitars, many I loved and many I only liked. This guitar is my obsession. I use to think I was going to get buried with my Bich, but now I know I will spend eternity with my Axcess (not really, my nephew will get it, I love the little guy and he loves LP's). It is kind of a shame that I so rarely play any of my other guitars, they are quite nice.

![]() I love the VOS historics and i played a real '68 LP BB Custom for years, but I'm enamored with theis new style. i hope to play one sometime. GC has the Gibson rights locally and they still don't have one and have not had one. They said when it came out, the original with the Floyd that they "Thought" they may get one eventually........ Still waiting. Back to this stoptail one. YESS! It would be the one I would want. I just don;t play with trem so this is the one for me. Now to find someplace that stocks them since my grade C GC has none to offer and no clue as to when or if they can get on in for stock. Yeah big chains........

Re: TOM Les Paul Axcess
Carvin did something similar to this a while back.
presumably it wont have the same bass response as the solid full thickness old school les pauls, but if its easier to play, what the hell. Id go for one. Would be a great live axe.

Re: TOM Les Paul Axcess
Yeah Gibby's new Axcess heal reminds me of the Carvin heal which is sooo nice.

Re: TOM Les Paul Axcess
I wanted one LAST year, and settled for the Floyd. Though the TOM was in the price list, it just never happened. I wasnt happy. Traded away the floyd one a little while ago, just never bonded with it. It was also just a little skinny, and I didnt like that either. I would prefer a full figured girl, if ya know whatta mean. I wouldnt get another one unless it was a TOM and full depth.
