What is that, $2,300 US? Seems about right.

Do UK Historics have a different serial# scheme? I've never seen a serial# like that on a Historic.

Re: Gold Top 57' Re-Issue

Doesn't the first number stand for the year of the reissue and the second the production year? I've seen the R7 GTs sold for 2700 new at GCs.

Re: Gold Top 57' Re-Issue

The seller says the guitar is the Custom Historic VOS edition of the 57', i was thrown by the extra digit in the serial number!!!! does anyone own a historic or VOS with that many numbers in the serial, my last one had a visible gap between the first number and the next.???????
any help would be great before i buy myself a dud.

LOL, why do we both seem to be looking at the same sales on ebay, im sure everything i consider you do too...great taste mate...
I contemplated the goldtop but backed out when the seller couldn't answer a few of my questions!!!!!!!
I have in the past few months had:

1. 2002 Standard Goldtop(sold for £1100)
2. 2006 Black Beauty Custom Historic 3 pick up(sold for £2000)
3. 2009 Les paul Junior in Satin White(I'm keeping it forever-love it)
4. 1965 Original Fender Mustang very scabby and refinished by someone from a blind school.(sold for £550)

I have just been offered a 1994 Goldtop for £1300, but also a 1974 Custom in Creamy yellowed white for £1800. i have a huge dilemma now and dont know where to turn.
I am starting a new thread with pics of them both and am desperate for some guidance.

Re: Gold Top 57' Re-Issue

Haha, Yeah. The gold top for 1300 seems to have been sold? (was this you? haha) but that custom is gorgeous but the price unfotunately puts it out of reach of my student paws! I'm having to sell my 08 standard to fund this GT I'm looking at!
What happened to the first gold top that went for 1500 BIT? Because that seller was messing me about when I asked questions!
Anyway I'm quite interested on that GT that's on now for 1400. Good luck whatever you buy!
Yes I think we brits have great taste

The 1500 goldtop I gave up on, the seller was a total dope, he took ages to respond to me, tyhen he had a different address to the seller, then something else was wrong...can't remember the full story now, but i simply didn;t trust him.
the goldtop for £1250 was one i did a best offer on, i was surprised they accepted it to be honest, but I'm gonna have to back out of the deal, they'll no doubt be pissed off, but I can't let the custom go now.
If I can free up a littel more cash I could get both, but I'm off to New York in August and need to start saving for that...good luck with whatever you get mate.

Re: Gold Top 57' Re-Issue

Yeah, I was wanting to PM you about that GT. The seller gave me the number of another person who had asked him about the guitar. the whole deal was fishy. I was interested in the other GT but the seller could only provide blurry pictures when I asked for some close ups. Then didn't get back to me when I told him they were blurry and if he could take some that were in focus haha. Third time lucky with this one then. *crosses fingers*
