I found a Pete Townshend deluxe brand new..this a good deal?

Hi all board vets...i have just seen a pete townshend les paul #3 in goldtop and #9 in burst...both are brand new in box for $3,800...is this a good deal?

do you think its a guitar that is a good investment as far as future value increase?

sorry if its a bit of a double post but i really need advice from board members as im close to buying the #9

for someone like me they'd be worth it, and if I had the mnoey Id have them in a flash, but then I grew up listening to them day and night (was listening to Quadrophenia last night as it goes), but being left handed Id never be able to play them

theyd be decorations only...

Ive never seen a no 9, any pics?? (ive only ever seen 1 2 & 3)

Personally if you want them buy them and play them, a guitar like that deserves to be played and played, being what it is they will go up in value but who knows by how much and how soon....

how much was it retail??

As I understand it there were 75 made worldwide and after an hour or so I cant actually find one for sale.

If youre a townshend fan, buy it, if you want to play it or display it, buy it, if youre buying it for an investment only let someone else have it who'll make good use of it...

I did however find an original #3 for sale (PT's own guitar from quadrophenia album), but there was no price !!

I think one controls the middle pickup and the other one puts it out of phase...

Only because Im not a fan of Goldtops - If I was right handed however and could actually play them, then Id have them both if I had the money...
