Re: I found a Pete Townshend deluxe brand new..this a good deal?

I'd say buy either one (or both) and make Townshend proud by playing the hell out of it and don't worry about the investment side of things. Guitars are made to be played hard and played frequently.

DUDE! Get the damb GOLDTOP! I've always wanted that thing. I'd give my left nut and my firstborn for it.....not sure if either would be worth the guitar though..... But i've never seen either of them for sale. Might wanna try to verify they're the real deal. The sticker price was much higher if i remember right. Check this site out....gibsoncustom.com

Re: I found a Pete Townshend deluxe brand new..this a good deal?

Here's my advice...go buy the Blue Book of Electric Guitars, look up the price and make your decision. I had the 2007 edition but lent it, never got it back and then I moved. If you have the book in your possession, you can always look up prices on other guitars that you might like to buy. The price is small considering the investment. I'd think that owning any historical reissue (as long as it's a Custom Shop guitar) would be a good idea considering that it would be a limited run and someone like Pete Townsend would have a following. Remember that a lot of guys that love the Who are going to be retiring and they'll have disposable income for those kinds of toys (when the economy recovers).

If I were you and I could find it, I would take the 1 Deluxe, but the sunburst and the goldtops are ace, too !! I would love to have a Townshend LP
