Sound Clips for discussion

Here's a couple of already well heard sound clips. Both are great tones. I just thought it would be interesting to have them side by side. What causes the differences ? Comments ?

If you look at the URL you know what they are so if you want to enjoy this, don't cheat, just listen.

I like the second one more.
(I looked at the URL after I listened to them a few times.)

If I didn't know what guitar it was, I would NOT have guess it was a Les Paul. It seems to be missing that thick Les Paul chunky throatiness. It sounded more like Eddie Van Halen's Kramer to me.
