Need feedback and next Steps on an 83 LPS...

All righty...I just got this 83 LPS and need some feedback on what I got and what I could do to it.

What I do know:
- It's an 83 w/ a touch of flame
- The pick up selector knob came broken in the case (a replacement is in the mail)
- The Pick Up rings were not stock. The neck ring was higher than the fret board and a touch under the frets.
- The bridge appears to be aftermarket, but has a feature that allows it to sit in three different positions on either end (see photos)
- Frets are fair
- Bit of buckle rash and a few dings, but other wise tip top
- Weighs in at a touch over 10.5 lbs

What I have done:
- Tore it apart to see what was under and behind everything
- Replaced the bridge Pup ring with a stock one (free from a buddy)Did not have long enough screws for the stock bridge ring he gave me.
- Reset the bridge that it came with so that I could set the intonation. Same buddy gave me a stock bridge, but it is a little hit...
- Top wraped the strings (after reading the many debates on MLP)
- Set the guitar up, now that I could lower the strings and not bottom out on the neck PUP ring.
- Played it till my fingers bled...and loved it (my Bogner Shiva loves it too, but I think my Lonestar Strat is a bit jealous).

What I would like to know...
- Do the pick ups appear to be stock?
- What does the "V.C.S." stamp mean (vintage cherry burst??)
- Anything to the signature above the VCS Stamp
- What does the "A" stamp mean?
- Do the electronics appear stock
- Any other observations you may have...
- Am I a chump for asking these questions after the purchase?

I love how the guitar plays and sounds, but would like some feedback on what could be improved or modified for an even more enjoyable experience

Thanks again for those that have given advice online and offline...

everything looks good to me, but i'd wait for a more experienced member to fully verify your claims, but as for me i would have the same assumptions as you (regarding the VLC and A stamps, which i'm guessing is just a factory inspection grade). as for the electronics, i don't remember seeing a plate in the control cavity, but i think that's trivial. Beautiful git btw.

Strom,

Thanks for the feedback. The guitar looks better than the photos...but don't they always?

Re: Need feedback and next Steps on an 83 LPS...

Can anyone tell me if the bridge is stock? I have seen a couple other 80's out there that have same style bridge.
