Very cool looking LP, wonder if its a real Gibson made or Mr John Bolin did it for him. Ill think that Billy did the prinstripning thing by himself...

thats an amazing goldtop
i like the fact you can see a bit of the flame in the second photo and the shapes on it.
strnage that it only has 3 control knobs though. the body looks quite worn so if they made it, then they would probably send a few to tom murphy to age.

i'd much rather they did a pearly gates though.
i think they're probably doing a pearly for release this year or the next

I wish Gibson would do a run of that Goldtop with a SINGLE P-90 in the bridge position - with carved top and everything - not a junior.

Does anyone have a pic of Billy with the guitar I'm talking about?

Where did he relocate the PuP select switch? I really dig the pin stripes.

You mean this one, its not a gibson but they did a run of the one above for some guitar store i cant remember the name of right now but its a little different, the control knobs are in a different place and the obvious relic-ing

I think its f-ing awesome and want to build a replica sometime

Well, compared to Billy's it has a different assembly of the control knobs.
I like the knob's placement of Billy's better. It's just like it is on a LP Jr.
The one pictured above is indeed built by Gibson. If you want to know more about it, try to contact Dave Rogers of Daves Guitar. Gibson did a limited run of these for his store back then.

i tell you what if you dont like the chambered guitars becuase of their weight then stay away from anything signature billy g. on the live from texas dvd they said bolin chambered the crap out of not only the bodies of the guitars but behind the fretboard too, the entire guitar is lightweight.

One of the knobs could be a three way switch, similar to the five way switches on some PRS's.

I'm not sure there is a selector switch. if I remember right, the neck pickup is a dummy. I don't remember what all the knobs do, tho.
