Hmm Not TOO shabby, gotta agree looks like PRS's Santana model with 22 frets and ugly green trapazoids

Re: New Gibson Les Paul Double Cuts / Redesigned!

They always seem to use really nice looking wood on the DC's.. I like the slightly bigger horn, but I don't see the comparison to PRS really... Especially since the DC Les Paul has been around longer. Maybe this is a dig at PRS for winning the lawsuit on the Single Cut.

Re: New Gibson Les Paul Double Cuts / Redesigned!

Yup, first thing I noticed. No symmetry..= no sale to me. But I'm sure they play great. I want a 356 or 336 symmetrical hollow CD anyway.
As they say, it's all good

They should have kept this a 24 fret.

Re: New Gibson Les Paul Double Cuts / Redesigned!

No way, man. 22 frets for better neck pickup tone is the reason I would buy one of these, but wouldn't have the DC Standard.

Re: New Gibson Les Paul Double Cuts / Redesigned!

What IS with those green inlays? Do the R&D guys at Gibson say "Ok, we've got an almost perfect guitar here guys. How can we screw it up a bit?" Snot green inlays are hideous.

I think some of you might need to calibrate your monitors. Those are not green inlays.

Not in the pictures, but I can guarantee when Gibson says 'aged vintage looking inlays' they mean snot green.

The ones in advertisements are never as green as they are in person. Check out my green inlays poll/thread. I got one pic of some really green ones, and those aren't even the greenist I've seen. Some are just plain disgusting.

you can calibrate your monitors all you want, I've seen and played these models at guitar center and I can guarantee you they are nasty green ass inlays. that was the one thing preventing me from pissing off my wife. cause with MOP inlays I would have walked out with a black one...

The other style was not symmetrical. Only Melody Makers are symmetrical.

The new ones look cool to me, no longer Hamer copies.

I do not think the 336 356 style is asymmetrical though you are probably right about the old LP CD.

336 is a wonder tone machine. Most versatile humbucker guitar I think Gibson makes.
