NGD! 2007 Gibson Les Paul Studio

So as some of you may know, I picked up a new 2012 Les Paul Studio Satin a little over three months ago. For some reason though I just couldn't seem to bond with her (Aria Speedwagon was her name). So regretfully, I sold her.

And as I'm a huge Randy Rhoads fan (can you tell?) I picked up a 2007 Les Paul Studio in alpine white a couple days ago. She was disgusting, with sweat and random junk caking the body. Fortunately though, no scratches/dings/buckle-rash save a single small finish crack on the headstock. So I sent her over to the luthier and here she is, all cleaned up and polished.

Supposedly weight relieved the exact same way a standard would be. FWIW

They sound amazing.

That they do! And hm is there any way to be sure? Would Gibson be able to tell me if I called them? I'm just curious because it seems too heavy to be chambered, but too light to be weight-relieved. Go figure haha.

I thought the same thing, then i picked up my PRS SE and it felt like a lead pipe. The LP was most definitely lighter. I think the build quality in comparison to a cheaper guitar just makes it feel more substantial overall. tap on the maple top, you will be able to tell its got some open space inside of it.

As far as I know 2007 LP standards were chambered. Not sure about the studios though.

I have that guitar, same year/model/finish. Love it, awesome player for sure. Getting the nut replaced on her though, slots have worn too deep resulting in some really nasty buzz. It was my first Gibson, and first guitar I ever fell in love with haha.

The 2007 Studio look in amazingly great condition! The face of the headstock looks absolutely pristine with practically no stratches!

For being a white 2007 Studio, not only am I suprised about the condition, but that it still actually looks white and not a cream or cloudy yellow.

To be fair, the pristine condition credit goes to none other than the previous owner. It came to me with spots and dirt and scuffs all over it but after my luthier had it for a couple days, it's all completely gone! It squeaks coming out of the case, I kid you not.
