Best Headstock Tuner

Just curious what you guys like and what seems to last. I used a Snark for a while but it seemed to die pretty quick even with new batteries.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

I got a Korg pitch clip for Xmas and it works great. Easy to view on the back of the headstock.

I see it's on sale at MF for $9.80. That's pretty cheap.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

The Snark SN-8 is what I've been using and it does not disappoint. It's a more sensitive version of their older models with an easier to see display.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

I don't use headstock ones. I either use the one in my amp, or the one on my mobile phone.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

The battery n my Snark lasted quite a while--I'm on a second battery now--but it's lasting a while as well.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

Snarks are good and cheap too. Like all headstock tuners they are not great at gigs because they pick up all the frequencies from all the other sources of noise in a room.

My 2 snarks are still working after 1 year on the original batteries. I use them all the time and love them.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

I use a Samson.. Bright display, chromatic/guitar/bass modes, "flats" option (up to 5 half steps..) It's my go to tuner. Always will be until I get off my lazy ass and invest in pedal!

Cool, at that price it's worth trying. Just ordered one. Thanks for all the info. I have a Korg plug in type which I also use, but I like the clip on for convienience.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

Since I got the Snark there is no other for me. If I can't find it I freak out lol. Now I just keep it in my case.

Re: Best Headstock Tuner

I use several different tuners (pedal, multi, rack, and a little boss handheld thing that is a PIA because if flops all over the place) but, don't use one of the headstock tuners.

However, were I to go that route. I'd buy two (they are cheap) and put a note in my calendar for June of 2013 to replace the batter in just one of the two. That way, I'd have greatly reduced the chances that I'll be without a tuner due to a dead battery (of course that supply of various types of batteries in my gear box is supposed to help with that, too).

I've been using this since xmas and now i don't think i can live without it. I ordered a back up. I also like how small and stealthy it is, screen folds back when i'm not using it so it's not ike you have this wonky thing hanging off your stock... You can put your LP in the case with it attached to the headstock.
